Experiential Learning is very close to the natural style of how children learn and
explore their environment. It is easier for people to learn through practical experience than through what is told to them.
In every stage of life children and young people have different developmental needs. That is why it is important to support them from the beginning to develop key skills for their later life. Magic Bus has developed an internationally recognised programme for children and young people to learn ‘Life Skills ’. We help children learn to develop Responsibility, Self-Awareness, Communication Skills, Trust, Helpfulness, Problem Solving Skills, Leadership and Team Performance. The programme is designed considering the latest and the best learning theories. It fosters the different learning styles and multiple intelligences of the students. The programme also helps in group bonding and creating an atmosphere of trust, since that is the base for teamwork.
Each programme is designed for the special needs of the group, and the activities are chosen according to that. The students are challenged to leave their ‘Comfort Zone ’ and enter their ‘Learning Zone ’. Important for the success of the programme is the reviewing of the activities and the transfer to related issues of everyday life.
In an age where there is little time for self-reflection and realisation, experiential learning programmes like these help participants realise their true potential, both physical and mental.
A typical Magic Bus children’s programme consists of forty children, one camp leader, four group leaders, two technical supports, two volunteers and two NGO staff members. Camps at the centre generally last for up to three days.
The Magic Bus Centre for Learning & Development Programme Team
Our programme mentors are adventurous and determined people who have chosen to steer a different course through life. They are like-minded but not formula driven, ordinary people with extraordinary talents and a passion for child development. Everything they do is based on a handful of simple ideas and beliefs that make a real and meaningful difference to children’s lives. Through our programme mentors we create and deliver development programmes that address issues such as self esteem, health and hygiene, gender equality, empowerment and help children realise their potential through personal and social education.
