New UK Fundraiser!
Magic Bus has been a registered charity in UK for over two years now, but for the first time we have a full time member of staff. Paul started at the beginning of July, and within days of accepting the post was in Mumbai, meeting all the Magic Bus staff and children. Paul will be based in the Magic Bus office on Victoria Street. He will be co-ordinating the Gala Dinner, UK grant fundraising and organising volunteers to take part in all sorts of fundraising events. For details of how you can get involved in fundraising email Paul on paul@magicbusindia.org or call the office 0044 207 078 6191.

Magic Bus on TV
Many of you will have seen the wonderful Mahesh Mathai-directed Magic Bus film on Bloomberg TV news recently. Bloomberg has been airing a 30 second clip of our film 5 times daily in the UK and Europe as a donation to Magic Bus. This has already prompted several people to phone up and has even found us some new volunteers!
Magic Bus children also appeared recently on the Total Rugby TV show on Sky Sports - featuring in an "Indian Special" when India played Kazakhstan recently in a World Cup 2007 Qualifier.

Gala Dinner 2005
Celebrate Mumbai! The Magic Bus annual fundraising dinner is all set for October 1 in the Park Lane Hotel on Piccadilly. We will recreate the streets of Mumbai in Mayfair - with entertainers and music and a cinema filling the Park Lane Hotel. Summer (Sony Classical's biggest new signing) will sing for us, and other celebrities and movers and shakers of the business world will be in attendance.

Sotheby's Painting
After recent successes at auction in New York we have had another picture donated to Magic Bus, which will be sold by Sotheby's on 20 September. The guide price is between $4000 and $6000, so if you would like to add to your art collection as support Magic Bus at the same time then do log on to www.sothebys.com and leave a bid (sale 8111, lot 269).

Running for the Bus
Over 20 Cox and Kings employees will be 'running for the bus' in Regents Park on November 6th. The valiant team will be braving the November cold at dawn on Sunday and raising funds for Magic Bus. Another 20 volunteers and friends of Magic Bus will also be running, and we hope to raise several thousand pounds. Also 'running for the bus' is Rosie Stynes, who is currently preparing for the biggest half-marathon in the UK: the Great North Run up in Newcastle/Gateshead in September.

We are currently recruiting people to run the Mumbai marathon on January 15th 2006 the 26 miles and 385 yards will just fly by as you run through Central Mumbai! For people who promise to raise over £2500 for the Magic Bus - we will fly you over to Mumbai for the run, and you can even meet the kids on the Magic Bus projects, and see where the money is being spent. If you are interested in 'running for the bus' please drop Paul an email on paul@magicbusindia.org.
