Corporate
More and more companies in India are giving a public account of their
relations with their employees, customers as well as the wider society
and community. Magic Bus has been able to position itself as an opportunity
to such corporations to become good corporate citizens.
Magic Bus seeks to align each corporate partner with one of its
partner NGOs and requests that the
corporate partner takes responsibility
for particular group/groups of children through their development
with Magic Bus. We endeavour to retain a long term commitment with
each corporate/NGO so that the ‘ownership’ of the success of the
group rests with the organisation and its employee volunteers.
We recommend that our corporate partners engage Magic Bus as one
channel to communicate their
values to:
- Meet the information needs of interested audiences including employees,
investors and the local community
- Demonstrate seriousness of intent with regard to social responsibility
- Enhance business reputation
- Reward staff for involvement in, and support for, your social and
environmental responsibility
Integrating Corporate Employees
Magic Bus involves employees in order to secure their understanding
of what success looks like and their part in achieving it. In turn
they will move on to inspire the entire organisation. We
believe that both companies and communities will benefit most in
the long
run when corporate community programmes and human resource objectives
are integrated more closely and focus more sharply on meeting the
strategic goals of the business. Employees are more likely to feel
happy and be more loyal and therefore
be more productive in a company
which is well-regarded by the community. The Magic Bus corporate
programme is an excellent tool for training and developing staff
– and is often a more cost effective route
than many alternatives.
Feedback from corporations who have participated in Magic Bus programmes
have emphasized impressive gains in teamwork, communication skills,
decision making and leadership.
Magic Bus already has partnership programmes with the following organizations.General Electric, Ashok Leyland, HSBC, Mahindra and Mahindra, TCSL, Canara Bank, AFL, Pepsi, Standard Chartered, Cipla, ONGC, Mastek, Hero Honda, Raymonds, Adidas, JP Morgan Chase, HDFC, Reuters and Indian Advisory Partners.

"I really appreciated getting to spend time with you and the
others, the staff and the kids. The programme was structured very
well. While it was filled with activity, it was not more than what
the kids and volunteers (us) could handle, which made it a truly
learning experience. The way the organisers tried to instill skills
such as rapport building, developing spirit and confidence, learning
good conduct was very effective." - Reuters volunteer
"It was amazing to watch how they combined adventure sports, the outdoors
and personality development with so much of fun. Equally importantly, they were
able to understand and deal with the emotional needs of the children, who responded
beautifully to them." - Reuters volunteer
