New beginnings, new happenings... at Magic Bus Centre for Learning & Development

In the sizzling summer we used the time when we were not holding camps to do some challenging pre-monsoon work like storm water drainage, leakage testing, new landscape etc. We also successfully completed the mammoth task of making the football ground.

We had a six week long induction programme for all our new recruits of Magic Bus at the centre. This quarter also saw the launch of the AV room in the M.A. Rangoonwala Resources Centre.

In June in midst of first monsoon shower we had our first revenue generation camp for adults when a training for the Mumbai Gymkhana Rugby Team was hosted at the centre. It was nice to see our new football ground being utilized, albeit for a different sport!

After a chance meeting at an event Matthew was introduced to a team of community coaches from Arsenal football club in London, one of the top premiership clubs. They visited the children for a game of football and then traveled out to the centre to see the facility. We look forward to more interactions with them in the future!

Taking an extra effort to maintain goodwill and creating employment opportunities for local village youths, we appointed three youths - Sanjay, Nitin and Vilas for various work at centre.

During this ongoing programme and routine work we decided to appreciate the staff for any extra ordinary effort and a Star of the Month award was created from April. Shantaram the head cook and Ashok Kumar 'Johny', the technical assistant from Programme team were Stars of April and the gardner Mangesh was Star of the Month for May.

doing all this, we were discovering ourselves...
